Tell you what, bilky. Do an internet search for the name of any of the female presenters of Breakfast and - using Boolean operators - combine it with any combination of the keywords patronising, simpering or pouting. Take a look at the results, then you'll see how many others are "lying".

Where shall I look first? "I can see your knickers - Page 3 - TV Shows: UK - Digital Spy Forums", or "BBC News: Presenters & Rotas: Split from the old thread" - wait, that's here...

Your Google must be faulty...I get a lot more than that! Maybe you should ask for a refund.....

Yes, such authoritative sources as MumsNet and a tweet. You could find such things about lots of presenters.

I'm not bothered about authority on this occasion. My aim was to prove that I'm not making this stuff up, as you suggested earlier. Clearly other people have seen what I'm seeing too. So I'm not a liar.

You were presenting it as fact though - I am sure few people are ever entirely alone in their opinion. However, it's hardly a widely-held opinion.

Oh bugger off. You OFTEN present your opinion as fact when you're not trying to start an argument with others.

Cut the crap, people. There's more crap in this thread right now than in London's public toilets!

"Ask Emily Maitlis" - what's to ask? If it was such a big gig, why would she have left the programme to join NC? I have to disagree with you; presenting on the NC means that the presenter is more likely to present national bulletins, unlike a regional newscaster.

Maybe Emily Maitlis didn't want the big gig or decided the BBC NC suited her better! And I disagree with the latter as BBC Breakfast and ITV News utilise regional presenters.

ITV News have no choice but to use them; they don't have NC presenters to use. As for Breakfast, they only really use Roger, but he's already up in Manchester, so it's easier for them to use him.

Personally I would have thought News Channel presenters would have been more well known than BBC London staff, but there you go!

(Before News 24 started, I would have thought a fair number of presenters would be known from reporting on the 'standalone' bulletins!)

No way. I think people on here don't realise how few watch either the BBC or Sky News Channels on a daily basis in the UK in a normal news week.
Head presenter on BBC London News is a big gig. Ask Emily Maitlis. The 6.30pm bulletin gets 500k -800k depending on the time of year. An hour on the BBC NC during the day and evening is lucky to get 100-130k. Also worth noting that Riz often does the national 7.57pm BBC One bulletin.

I thought when she left BBC London, it was a joint NC and Newsnight gig? The latter is hardly a low ratings bulletin.

As for Riz Lateef, she also is a regular reporter on Watchdog in addition to being the Friday 7.57pm bulletin presenter, so hardly just a regional name by any means.

I thought Emily left BBC London to present the 7-10pm shift alongside Ben Brown, but was replaced by Joanna when she went on maternity leave???

Breakfast are rather short next week:

Saturday-Sunday: Roger Johnson and Naga Munchetty
Monday-Wednesday: Louise Minchin and Nicholas Owen
Thursday-Friday: Simon McCoy and Louise Minchin.

So Susanna Reid, Bill Turnbull, Charlie Stayt and presumably Jon Kay all on holiday.

I guess if Bill/Susanna/Charlie/Louise all took hols in separate weeks it would 'disrupt' the regular presenter line-up for 8 weeks... It makes sense to allow overlaps so it's back to normal come September.

See, I can just about put up with the uninteresting observations (I post enough of them) but they're not even right in this thread.

George sometimes covers for Huw, but he doesn't do it that often. This is only his forth appearance on the Ten this year.
