Yeah whilst not perfect, I suppose we should be fair that they're not doing some of the things we've been so critical of them for for months:-

* They actually look a bit more professionally filmed, rather than going for some tired 'ooh, look, I'm all hipster with my raw, shaky camera look'.
* It's not just completely random footage with the BBC One logo slapped over the top. They've properly tailored these to the relevant shows.

Personally I'd not be surprised to find this is the direction the BBC One branding may go full time next year, with idents being shot off the back of the actual programmes every time rather than just occasionally. It allows them to film a lot of sequences, whilst also presumably easier to justify budget for in these belt-tightened times as it can just be accounted for as part of the particular show's marketing spend.

My sentiments exactly. It's an alright ident - does exactly the job it aims to do in promoting the show, and at least has some flair in its creation.

But I can't see BBC ONE entirely switching to idents based on programmes. Oneness is already looking like it's on the way out. It hasn't been actively promoted, not even in times of national unity (e.g. One Love Manchester). Special idents have done away with the tag. I'm surmising that BBC Creative have written it off entirely.

Oh, no. We've just been subjected to another one, leading into Graham Norton.

And another into Doctor Who - slightly strange but better than the proper idents!

Network and Scotland provided superior playouts over NI and Wales, in that the anno was delayed until after the group's vocals ended.

Just had a Casualty one. When will this end?

If anyone wants me to upload these, I will ...but really, is it worth it?

For the first time, I'm now glad the footie season is over so we aren't subjected to a Match of the Day one

Watch this I'll watch Mrs Browns boys and I bet a normal ident will appear. Mind you I've been trying to have the week off from dealing with pres.

It's doing it's job - plugging Pitch Battle. Better than 'Oneness'

Surely singing in a choir/group is another demonstration of the idea behind 'oneness'?
