Who got this commissioned? The aim of a dating show is to bring people together, not break them up.
That's a little naïve... Commercial TV shows exist to get the right audience eyeballs to see the right commercials - and to do that they need to attract the right audience, and entertain them enough to keep watching. There isn't really any other significant motive in commercial TV (unless a regulatory commitment requires there to be)...
I’ve noticed teasers for Britain’s Got Talent: The Champions appearing today. As there is no main series of X Factor this year, are we expecting the Champions to air late August/early September?
Yes I expect this will replace the weeks of XF auditions with Celebrity XF to follow. Then XF All Stars follows that, but what I read of that is that it is stripped across 1 week. So probably early December?
The rumours are SuBo and Diversity aren’t appearing due to ‘commitments’ but I can’t help feeling it actually seems a bit of a deliberate ploy by the producers as they would probably be way out in front and make the whole thing a bit pointless!
I think Diversity are the one act who really don't need it, and nowadays as an established dance act they are far more about the creative than proving themselves competitively. Susan Boyle was supposedly going to take part (think her apperance on the final was used to plug it) and did the US version, which probably suited her story more than the UK version as in the US she is the breakout Got Talent star whilst here she's probably remembered more for not winning it.
