The Voice has just started on ITV (and will no doubt get trounced by Let It Shine which is still running on BBC One). They are using a filmic effect for the blind auditions, which I'm sure they usually do but I find it very distracting. Let It Shine, while still recorded, is using a more conventional 'as live' format which I think will do well for it.

From the brief bits I saw, weren't Let It Shine using a video look for the actual auditions, and a film look for the behind the scenes bits?

Let it Shine was very underwhelming IMO, while The Voice is The Voice. Nice set, but whoever the coaches are they tend to be annoying, even for viewers used to watching The X Factor.
Turns out nobody had 2020 vision.

I thought Let It Shine was really good. Not usually a fan of BBC talent shows but this was self-deprecating, the system with needing 15 stars was good, the judges were entertaining and the hosts were well-suited.

The Voice still feels too polished and over-produced, just like it did on the BBC. It just leaves me cold.

What I saw of it was 50i... the studio bits anyway. They still filmise the inserts though (which nearly every show seems to do this days annoyingly).

I have to say, Let it Shine didn't trounce The Voice as much as I was expecting. They were ahead, but only 6.3 million to The Voice's 5.9 million.

I have a feeling that due to the overlap a lot of people will have recorded the voice so that they could watch and skip adverts. I think the voice had better talent but for a new show Let It Shine was different and felt more family friendly especially with Graham & Mel hosting.

I do think Let it Shine is more likely to fall next week than The Voice too, which usually holds pretty steady until the end of the blind auditions.

Play To The Whistle, by the looks of it, will be back for series 3 but now on ITV4;

I thought it was quite signficant to see a fairly major show for Saturdays go to ITV4. Quite strange.
