New to this forum and first post Very Happy

i work at the TVC currently and have been for over a year, when I first joined it was still quite busy with lots of programs (especially Strictly) going on, however 2012 has been very well depressing, I have been on a tour of the East Tower, that is very eerily quiet, you can still sense the magic that went on in there though, everywhere else is empty and quiet, not alot of people anywhere really.

by April 2014 so I've heard is that TVC will be completely empty (sorry if this has been said earlier) and White City & Media Village will all be gone.... sad times.

Is that style of desk now Standard, BBC Sports Centre, Midlands Today and now here.

I do like the design but I'm assuming this is a replacement of the Red, Grey and Black oval Desks.

Are those Rails on the floor?

Ooh, rotating set maybe? Smile

That set certainly looks very nice. However, I'm still struggling to understand why the opted for back-projection for some of the screens.

This has usually given a rather 'washed-out' look, which seems like a retrograde step when better solutions are available. However, I'll wait to see how they look when broadcast before making my mind up.

I wonder whether the rostrum for the desk can rotate (à la Sky News)? It could create some interesting different backgrounds, especially when the newsroom is empty.

The roof height in that studio makes NWT/Breakfast's look positively cavernous, but the set is shaping up very nicely indeed. The rails are interesting, though I can't work out whether they're for the plasma wall or the central platform.

Technology has moved on quite a way, so they should be an improvement on the ones that resided in N8.

I wonder how long until people only tune in to see the desk go down and up, then? Wink
