AIUI the new location is so close to the Principality (was Millennium?) stadium means there is a lot of dark fibre between the two. AIUI the plan is also to have some multipurpose spaces (a bit like the BBC have in Salford that have been used for Commonwealth/Winter Olympic game coverage)?
The rooftop garden appears to be part covered by that red roof thing (top left), and not all exposed to the elements so that will make an interesting space to use.
I'm looking forward to the use of AR during news programmes. Even the large studio is going to be fully kitted out with it.
Shame about the parking and road access. Llandaff is a joy to access from the A48(M) and to park. Not quite the case at Central Sq, but hey, bigger picture and all that !
Don't tell me BBC staff are going to have to start using... PUBLIC TRANSPORT?!
Perhaps we'll start seeing reports on Wales Today about how much of a bugger it is to get around the city centre by car. When there's a marathon, bike race or even rugby international the whole city centre is a write off. I prefer it though - and once the new metro gets underway it'll be easier.
And there's parking in the basement... for a few hundred bikes
