Well those people you speak of, can't think that.
I think using Brian Dowling will do Channel 5 no harm as all they want to do is keep the majority of Big Brother viewers not gain new ones if they keep over 60% of the viewers from the last series, I'm sure they'll be happy.
Anyway I quite like that new eye.
Yeah I think
some people forget
that the SMTV team of Brian and Tess were the
second most memorable
presenting team of the show after Ant, Dec and Cat.

It's not saying much though is it? It's like saying Lee Mack was the second most memorable person to present "They Think It's All Over". They did a good job, but however well they did, they never lived up to Ant, Dec and Cat

Most people forget that Ed Tudor-Pole was the second most memorable person to present The Crystal Maze.

I don't think this has been mentioned (or at least not confirmed on TVF):
Marcus Bentley to return as voice of Big Brother
Marcus Bentley has confirmed that he will be returning as the voice of Big Brother on Channel 5.
The voicover star, whose famous Geordie accent covered all ten years of the reality show on Channel 4, has followed the programme to its new home.
"Right guys! I've waited since April to say this ... So here goes, I AM THE VOICE OF BIG BROTHER!" he wrote on Twitter this morning.
More, over on DS

He's one of the biggest parts of the brand, it's one of these 'you can't imagine the show with anyone else' things and you don't get that with Davina.
Keeping the theme then - a new eye means nothing when it's the same old tired sound - Marcus Bentley just puts you off now.

I'd imagine it being much more watchable without his narration. He was an asset in the early days but soon became a parody of himself and though scripting was improved for BB11 (so they let us see nominations rather than having Marcus telling us who nominated who), for many he may have been a big part of Big Brother, but he was also a big part of why it was declining too.

I watched a clip of the early series and I believed another person was doing the narration, he sounds completely different now.
