Unless they can get Jim Davidson in as well for the sake of conflict, that puts me off.

Have they even found a presenter yet? Jedward will be doing that as well at this rate.

Most rumours seem to point towards Brian Dowling and/or Emma Willis. My opinion is that Emma would be preferable but I have no real problems with either of them. I've also heard Kate Thornton rumoured but I'm not sure how much truth is in that one.

Oh good, well that's helped me make a concrete decision not to watch at all.

Until they're evicted, that is. Wink

Maybe they should change it to a positive 'vote to save' vote to keep the more interesting characters in. It's the only way they will get their money's worth out of Jedward.

Was Davina ever considered? What's the story there?

Davina finally realised it was time to move on - certainly professionally she's never been busier, and I suspect also personally having her summer free now her kids are growing up is a factor too. She made no secret of her families plans for a three month vacation this summer, so I doubt it would go down too well if she turned around and said no, I'm actually doing BB again.

Arguably had Davina realised a couple of years earlier she needed to move on C4 may not have axed BB. Although I've got no qualms with Davina towards the end they were both harming each other and a new host might have been the kick up the backside the producers needed to address some long standing issues with the format and also, had the host been chosen wisely, generated some new interest in the show.

Davina was the least of their problems, and they wouldn't have and never will have a presenter bigger than Davina because of how ruined the brand was and still is. If Davina quit the Channel 4 show, who would have realistically replaced her? Any decent presenter with any self respect wouldn't go within a ten mile radius of the show. The final celebrity series felt just as fresh as the first and Davina was on top form, so if shes given the right material then she comes across well. But I'm glad she has ruled herself out of the Channel 5 show, it needs a fresh approach.

Emma Willis would be my choice. Young, attractive, experience of hosting Big Brother related shows, well-liked and importantly capable.

I think Brian Dowling would be off-putting for many potential viewers.

I agree entirely.

And how anybody could still find the final series' of Big Brother 'fresh' is totally beyond me.

The last main one was terrible, I was referring to the final celebrity series.

BB11 was IMO one of the best in years and was the sort of overhaul the show had long been in need of. If it had come a year earlier instead of the unwatchable BB10 who knows, things might have been different.

Have to agree with Brekkie there, I was gripped with BB last year. Hadn't watched it fully since the end of series 5. Series 6 was dull, 7/8/9 chavtastic viewing, 10 most boring year ever with the worst house in the history of the show, 11 was great. Not as good as 1-5, but still good.
