Yeah I think some people forget that the SMTV team of Brian and Tess were the second most memorable presenting team of the show after Ant, Dec and Cat.

Well those people you speak of, can't think that.

Not a fan of SMTV, I see. Nevermind.

When you think of SMTV you think of Ant, Dec and Cat and Brian and Tess. The rest is just a jumble of ever-changing lineups. They were the two solid presenting teams. After that the show went downhill and is why it ended.

That eye is sodding appalling.

I quite like it, I don't see what the big deal is. Its very basic but it will look better when its being animated. If they stuck with the Channel 4 template they would have got slated for it. It fits in with the Channel 5 branding, and judging by the eye flash picture they could be bringing the surveillance aspect of the branding back. The Channel 5 branding itself was abysmal on paper (the red/pink circle logo) but the on screen package is very good and slick.

EDIT: Yes, advert is here and it looks a lot better and the branding all fits together extremely well. Its great that they're also bringing the same iconic music back.

I think in a still image the eye is nowhere near as striking as the Channel 4 original. When animated though it looks good but still it's just a bit bland.

In addition to the advert I posted earlier on, Channel 5 have also uploaded a different one to their website;

That one is very good too, graphics wise it could be the best series yet. Until last year Channel 4 got a bit stuck in a rut with adapting the top of the eye to create the voting number straps so its great to see things being done a bit differently. Its very quirky and different.

It does look good, still not sure on the eye logo, but great use of it. Much like the rest of the graphics by the in house team, a great design from a basic logo.
It does remind me of the 'FIVE' generic ident from 2008

No, I'm not saying that at all, look at what I've made bold it kinda contradicts itself.

I'd imagine it being much more watchable without his narration. He was an asset in the early days but soon became a parody of himself and though scripting was improved for BB11 (so they let us see nominations rather than having Marcus telling us who nominated who), for many he may have been a big part of Big Brother, but he was also a big part of why it was declining too.

When he first got the job he probably toned it down a bit, but with time as he realised it was an asset he increased the geordieness to his real life level. If you look at a lot of people they start off very well spoken and they relax over time.

Just watch something like This Morning from the early 1990's.

I guess, I couldn't think of a better phrase, which I'm sure you'll now tell me. Razz

Can't help but feel the new logo is simple enough to be used as a DOG in the days before the launch. Perhaps that was one of the reasons why it was so dramatically changed.

Is there any news as to whether this series will be featuring product placement?

It wouldn't be a surprise, if suddenly the rules are changed to allow the Housemates info on the outside, well I say info it will be copies of The Daily Star and Express.
