Rugby League Challenge Cup on the red button today Featherstone vs Bradford lost signal for about five minutes with the below breakdown slide shown very briefly. Commentary team left briefly flummoxed as they revealed they were commentating from Media City.

I suspect it is just a camera op on site with an MVP to stream the signal back.
It's the way a lot of the WSL (Women's football) is done.
Everything else is back in base, as it keeps the cost down, and therefore makes it financially possible to provide any coverage.

FA Cup Semi Finals
Leicester City v Southampton
Chelsea v Manchester City

Would be very surprised if BBC didn't pick Chelsea v Man City meaning BT last exclusive FA Cup tie will be Leicester v Southampton before their rights move to ITV next season.

That's rather underselling the big news in this deal, which is that the Beeb aren't just "retaining" the coverage, but that it will be pumped up quite substantially, as the majority of the matches will be live on BBC1 and BBC2 - https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56459754

Great news for Women's Football with 18 games on BBC One/Two rather than on the Red Button as well as the Women's FA Cup and continuation of England internationals as well as tournaments which should continue on the BBC. Also getting the Sky deal might lead to investment in the women's game which is excellent business by the FA.

On another note there is some talk of updating the crown jewels FTA Sport list and I think the Government should add the Women's equivalent to the Crown Jewels list for example they should add Women's FA Cup Final, European Championships and World Cup.

In other news Extreme E which featured on last night's Top Gear have signed a deal with ITV to carry the sport for the next 3 seasons.

I thought theyโ€™d already signed deal with the BBC and Sky, sounds like live coverage will be exclusive on ITV though.

Edit: The BBC claimed to have live streaming rights. http://www.bbc.com/sport/motorsport/51801764.amp

And Sky...

Sounds similar to the setup Formula E seems to have had over the years, where anyone who wants it can have it.

Seems that it becomes ITV exclusive only in 2022 & 2023. So BBC, Sky and ITV all showing it in 2021 then ITV only?

Seems like it's on BBC (streaming-only), ITV and Sky this season, and ITV only for the following two seasons.

I imagine the rights are pretty cheap - like Formula E it is an Aurora production, but with NEP providing facilities for Extreme E whilst Timeline do Formula E.

It'll be on BT Sport as well.
