Hahaha. Oh, you are awful. But I like You!! 😉😉

All the tinsel and greenery is wearing me out now. I thought I'd get used to it. It reminds me of a garden center in distress.

Can anyone confirm what specific BBC programming historically came from this specific Loose Women studio? Was it ever used for News at any point in time? Just curious.

Sideways note: always good to see the original anchor (Kaye) in charge. Still my favourite anchor by far. Although I was mightily impressed by Jane Moore last week.

It was BBC News' main studio until they moved to TC7 around 1997/98, and the home of Blue Peter towards the end of its time at TV Centre.

The studio itself wasn't converted to colour until 1980 so spent the whole of the 70s as storage.

I think I’m right in saying that Studio 2 was the home of the CBBC Channel/X Change/Newsround updates at launch in 2002.

Did Grandstand come from there when it first moved from Lime Grove?

No, Sport came from TC5. Newsnight, Breakfast Time and Watchdog moved from Lime Grove to TC2.

Loads of shows came from that studio in that period! UK Top 40, even Dick and Dom I think.

TV Studios History will give a good insight.

Oh Wow! So Loose Women is now presented from the hallowed ground once owned by BIG MOIRA?? The show has just gone right up in my estimation!

The lady herself would be an excellent guest on the show, in fact.

I wonder if that curtain style backdrop of today is the original one in use in that studio way back in the day.

I don't think the main bulletins ever came from TC2 unless I'm mistaken, they came from N1 and N2. It was the likes of Breakfast News, Newsround and Newsnight that came from TC2 (then TC7 after 1997).

I think most people in BBC News would describe N1 and N2 as the main studios in News, as they were the home of the main bulletins. Whilst TC2 was larger, it only really did the ex-Lime Grove stuff (Breakfast News and Newsnight)

Yeah I royally fudged up that wording. I meant aside from the dedicated news studios, it was BBC News & Current Affairs' go-to "TC" studio.

TC2 was allegedly the reason why there wasn't an N4 - circuits to TC2 (presumably in the original SCAR in Stage 4) were labelled as N4. Same reason as there never being an N7 to avoid confusion with TC7.

Didn't Sport use TC2 for a bit? Not sure if that was while 5 was out of action or a continuation of how things were at Lime Grove after they moved.
