I'm not sure Newsroom24 levelled that allegation directly at the co-hosts. Generallly there's a particularly glossy shine to The View which some could easily perceive as fake. The likes of The Talk and The Wendy Williams Show appear far more down to earth.
You mean well produced and with quality professionally designed sets, music and graphics and lighting. Ok. Fake. Gotcha.
Wow I've heard alot of things about the View but the women are "fake and false" certainly is an accusation I've never heard.

I suspect they'd need to borrow ABC's cheque book as well...
I’m curious how much the money are Loose Women and The View are bringing to the network. I imagine The View is around $100 million a year* - they pay Whoopi Goldberg an estimated $5-6 million on a Monday - Thursday contract.

Loose Women should take a leaf out of ABC The View’s book.
They have a great set, great graphics, intro, theme and have a newsier format than Loose Women.

You really take people not liking certain things from America very, very personally, don’t you?

Don't tell me what I mean. The Talk and Wendy Williams manage to be all those things without the sickly sheen of The View. I watch all three and enjoy all three, so I know that to be the case.
You are often bombastic, even arrogant when it comes to discussing American TV in comparison with British TV, to the point that many British members could easily take offence but choose not to. And yet you have an incredibly thin skin when anyone dares to comment on 'your' TV. All this flag waving can be quite wearing when we're trying to comment objectively on telly pres.

Well I could say the same thing about your North American tv bashing has already worn thin as well. Goes both ways. Just this week some commented that Americans were stupid and that a Canadian programme was "incredibly pretentious" But had I said the same thing it would have been World World 3 and I would have people calling me arrogant and bombastic.....
Clearly your phrase "sickly sheen" and "fake" doesnt make much sense which is why I hoping you'd explain what specifically are you referring to? Maybe you need to use another phrase because sickly sheen as a blanket statement doesnt make much sense to me. HOW YOU DOING?!

I have never seen such a hilarious shift in tone half way through that introduction, and then an equally hilarious shift back.
Completely agree, can't believe they got away with it!

That makes you sound a bit immature to be honest, the great thing about discussions is that people have different views and opinions.
My views on television presentation are from a British perspective but I will clarify what I was meaning by '"fake and false" in my original post. In general, I think American TV tends to be more 'over-the-top' in a number of ways, both in terms of the style of presentation from the hosts to the graphics and the audience and to me this often makes things they cover come across as more insincere and fake.
As Andrew mentioned, the switch in tone during the introduction seems completely wrong and the music they have used for it comes across as very insincere to me. It's not just American TV that seems to do - I really don't like the 'audience enthusiasm person' that Loose Women use to get the audience to clap enthusiastically at the start of shows or the return from a break as this comes across as very insincere and makes the show seem less credible to me. While it is used on Loose Women, I think this is more of an Amercian thing and is an element of TV presentation from across the pond that I'm not a fan of.

And my views are a North American perspective.
So a hype person used on tv talk shows in the UK and AROUND THE WORLD is American, but only American programmes are viewed as fake and insincere?

As I mentioned in my above post, I'm talking about multiple elements, not just the hosts
And your sounds that way as well. And my views are a North American perspective.
And its interesting when I mentioned the host someone chimed in you werent talking about the hosts.

By the way Wendy WIlliams is good isnt she? Been listening her since her radio days. When she first started she was a bit stiff and wooden. She has loosen up after 10 yrs. But I like her show because she doesnt care. SHe does what she wants. If you ever heard her radio show back in the day. She was way harsher than she can be on telly. HOW YOU DOING?
