IMHO, I don't think having the NI or any regional branding is necessary at all. Unless the programme is a regional only programme to let people in the region know it's for them specifically, where's the harm in just having BBC TWO and BBC FOUR on the cross channel promo? It's not as if there are a hundred BBC TWO's that viewers can get confused over. If they hear a programme is on BBC TWO, they know it's on channel 2/102. Calling it BBC TWO NI/Wales/Scotland doesn't change that fact.

No, there are 4 BBC2s, and you get all of them on Satellite, both Sky & Freesat.
There are actually five - BBC Two HD (England), BBC Two England SD, Scotland, Wales and NI. But in fairness to find the regional variations you have to go hunting for them on Sky, the only other official mention of them is a PDF file on the BBC website which Google can find but I can't find where its linked from. By default the correct region (or at least the region you've told Sky you're in) gets mapped to 102 anyway. Dunno what happened to the plans from 2013 to bring HD to the BBC Two regions, suspect they were kicked into the long grass.
So... you would have a co-channel trail pointing to Proms coverage on both BBC Two Northern and BBC Four... with on-screen branding consisting of BBC Two and BBC Four logos, plus a "Northern Ireland" lying by itself at the bottom of the screen?
From the perspective of a tourists to Northern Ireland, watching TV in their hotel room... what would they imagine the "Northern Ireland" is for? Would they know it was supposed to be attached to the BBC Two? Might they initially think it should go with the BBC Four? Or perhaps they'll look at it and wonder if the concert is taking place somewhere near their hotel?
In that case, there is only one entity that needs a regional/national identifier. It is only in cases of repetition I suggest it be dropped in favour of a single national/logo
The 2017 Womens Rugby world cup final, this Saturday evening in Belfast, has been moved from ITV4 to ITV. New Zealand play England in the final at Ravenhill.
Too tired after three consecutive 06:00 starts lol!
Whilst on the topic of this Saturday, I notice the highlights of the Diamond League athletics final is only 45 minutes long this Saturday. Is it usually that length, as I'm sure they used to be an hour long?
Usually an hour. There is a busy schedule for this week's Zurich meet (including Mo Farah's last track race) so I can only guess it's to enable the Challenge Cup final to get a decent amount of build up
The BBC Sport app has been updated with the new branding. Having trouble with the images not showing on the forum, so direct links to screenshots are below:

So... take that Proms trail and add in a visual reference to BBC One Northern Ireland, in addition to BBC Two Northern Ireland and BBC Four. You still have the issue of your "Northern Ireland" lying at the bottom of the screen and a tourist not knowing what the "Northern Ireland" is in reference to.
