BBC Red Button has its own channel number on the EPG on Virgin (channel 991) so you can record it.
Does Virgin not offer access to the iPlayer/Connected TV/Sports app?

The text looks very small, I have a feeling this is going to be another example of something being designed for big HD TVs without any thought to what it'll look like on a small TV with Freeview's SD compression
Not sure the graphics are quite as nice as they're being made out to be. Final Score looks alright but still suffers from text being squashed to be more narrow in places, which I always think looks incredibly untidy. See Gateshead on the image above. Some of the spacing isn't quite right too (reporter name and location for example).

Surely though anyone with access to the apps would watch in HD on them rather than endure the conventional broadcast service.

Looks better in HD. Not sure I agree with the comment above that the text looks small - if anything, some of it is on the large side. The bar on the left - if the majority of team names need to be abbreviated or squashed, the design isn't right. Maybe they could all be in the condensed version of the new font?

It looks really good. The animations are nice and flow well, very smooth. So glad to see the gloss disappear.
I switched between SD and HD and the font definitely looks different - like they've used bold in SD but regular in HD. Must be a strange encoding quirk...or just an excuse for me to get a new TV.
Hard to know whether to read more into that lonesome "one" or not. Seems an odd oversight in an otherwise well designed package.
