All of the nations are dependent on how network react and given network would have been busy trying to fix the problem I'd hardly imagine the nations would be hounding them for an answer as they'll have been in this position themselves.
There may well be standard procedures that state hitting the news junction is key and if that means dropping a programme so be it.
