There always is a lot of padding on Eastenders nights, as Eastenders episodes are now only 21 minutes in a 25 minute slot.

I note the CA on the North East & Cumbria opt-out also started the link by saying 'now on One'...

Is NI the only BBC One nation that's managed to get through the evening without a breakdown slide so far, now?

Yes, and the only nation that's managed to successfully show Panorama from the start.

Very interesting to hear your first hand experience, Orry. Thanks for that.

Looks like all the excitement took TVF down.

A increasing flood of visitors and the site couldn't cope. Needed a reboot. Seems I need to spend some time optimising queries...

Is this a regional thing as Look East also introduced their programmes with Now on One a few weeks ago.

Strange they are only now 5 mins late, tonight’s EastEnders must have been much shorter than the 25 min slot it was in

It started on NI about 808pm and finished at 827pm so about 20 mins

Eastenders is always about 20 minutes in a 25 minute slot.

Credit to BBC One NI for keeping the show on the road while a car crash happened all around them.

Wales made the biggest dogs dinner out of all of this.....10 minute filler, a Welsh public service announcement when Network started the delayed Eastenders, then ending up having to crash into 'Would I lie to you' already started.

What's the reason for the 25-minute editions of EastEnders?

O/T but why they didn't just cut an episode per week of EE rather than shave 7-8 minutes off each episode defies logic.

Network had a PIF ahead of EastEnders too.
