Colour videotape footage of the studio too! When it was only seen on TV here in black & white.

It's very interesting, hard to tell for sure, but it seems to be natively electronic. If so did the BBC provide a colour camera to enable CBS to record that report?

Here's another news chopper crash, this time in Florida:

Here's a video from 15 November 2015 during the Paris Terror attacks. MSNBC ran NBC Nightly News back to back and I was able to get this open for the western edition of NBC Nightly News.

Here's the open for CBS Weekend News on 11 April 2020 from TEGNA's KHOU-TV in Houston, Texas. This was the first CBS Weekend News broadcast originating from a non owned station:

From a friend who has access to a satellite dish and can view backhaul feeds it appears that the complete product was produced at KHOU-TV so CBS sent them all the graphic files, while the reports were pre-recorded a few minutes prior to broadcast to make the six box.

Here's a clip from KCNC Denver's turn presenting the Weekend News on 4 April 2020. This video included a 10 second countdown for affiliates to tune in:

A horrible graphic from WBAL-TV where on their 11.2 MeTV subchannel the Archdiocese of Baltimore sponsored a broadcast of their mass. This was recorded on Palm Sunday and the diocese fed the video from the station straight from their online webstream:

Here are some join in progress messages from WBAL-TV and their 11.2 MeTV subchannel (SD widescreen):

Some special report opens including from WBAL-TV, WBFF and Fox News broadcast network:

Special Report Opens from ABC, NBC and CBS:

During the period when the third hour of Today was in reruns as Craig Melvin, Al Roker were at home for quarantine after a staffer tested positive the show was in reruns. WBAL-TV ran a special Coronavirus Newscast, here's the open and some program elements:

And finally a 5 second CBS News Special Report countdown and close:

I just uploaded these videos in the past week and since they're all related to US news presentation I figured I would put them here. Rather than splitting some up in the various US threads.

WXYZ-TV Detroit. Opener from this morning's 7 Action News. WXYZ is the Scripps owned ABC affiliate in the city.

KSDK St. Louis, MO. '5 On Your Side' opener from 4pm today.

Lower thirds, note the clock is using the wrong font for a Tegna station.

What the hell is that theme music? Seems really upbeat and wholly inappropriate for a news bulletin.

It appears to be a Tegna trait to have off-key music for their news bulletins.

In this clip, posted from another Tegna station, WTSP in Tampa/St. Petersburg, there's a feel good trailer about being in isolation. From my experience of watching Tegna bulletins, their editorial policy is to be as positive as possible along with plenty of fluff features.

The music for Tegna's news is C Clarity by Sixième Son who come from France.

No wonder it sounds distinctly European.

Yep - looks electronic to me. My guess is that CBS rigged an NTSC camera in TV Centre - you can see the floor monitors flickering as you'd expect from a 60Hz camera pointed at a 50Hz CRT. It's possible the BBC had an NTSC 525/60 capable camera they were able to let CBS use I guess. (PAL 625/50 to NTSC 525/60 conversion wasn't really an option in 1966)

It's difficult to say for sure it isn't film - but it doesn't have the 'film look' to me.

This has probably been going on for a few weeks now, but the national France 3 newscasts have been using the France 2 studio.
