The graphics and headline bed on sunrise seem almost identical to NBC Today. Is that the norm or just for the election?

The Bed is literally the same headline bed that Today used between 2013 & 2015. That's unusual.

I see Comcast revoking the Sky News branding license soon unless there was some sort of long term deal associated with the acquisition. I imagine they aren’t too happy (the controlling family of Comcast and some board members are Democrats or at the very least liberal leaning).

Until I clicked on that I thought it was going to be parady.

The ABC - tax-payer funded by the way - in unashamedly left-wing so it's just balancing it up. Newspapers have opinion pages. Sky is free to lean however it wants.

Eh, if I recall, prior to the Sky Acquisition, Comcast never really had any connection in Australia. They are probably monitoring to see if they could either get a name change or make a hard line between Sky News UK and Australia.

Australian politics confuse me, I just don’t get it. If you could explain please.

Let's wait for one of our Australian friends to give us a full explanation, but here's the short version: Australia's Liberal Party is actually a right-wing, conservative party -- so Sky News Australia could accurately be described as "Liberal leaning" (with a capital "L").

Labor are socialist. Liberals are capitalist.

Have Labor always been socialist? No. Bob Hawke was in the middle and extremely popular.

And just a general comment re: people who criticise “Sky After Dark” - they don’t complain about MSNBC, CNN, the ABC, etc.

Call the top of this post simplistic but it’s a fact.

By the way, just some trivia to show the magnitude of the election shock - bookmakers were paying $11 for a Liberal victory! Razz

And by the way, for anyone who can’t work out that accent on that Sky News guy, he’s British.

Is it actually 'left wing' or is it left wing in the sense that the BBC is accused of being left wing... as in its neutral but it doesn't confirm to your views so it must be the opposite of them?
