Kevin Lygo has confirmed at the Ed TV Festival that Dec will have a co-host.

I think Stephen Mulhern seems the obvious choice. Some on here deride him but he's got good chemistry with Dec and has worked with him a lot over the years on various projects. They would be the closest partnership to Ant & Dec that I can think of in terms of style of presentation.

They will not want appear to be replicating the Ant & Dec partnership or creating the perception of a new double act.

I can only see it being a female co-host to create a different dynamic.

Do you think? Still a bit left field for one of ITVs most valuable shows, isn’t it? Don’t get me wrong, I think she’d be great - she knows the format, how to play off a sidekick, and opportunity for some good Aussie/Pommy banter. Just feels like a risk ITV wouldn’t be brave enough to take.


And it’s making me miss Liquid News!
