Welcome to the Weather Forecast Thread.

In the Weather....
The BBC Weather Centre relaunched their graphics on Monday 16th May, introducing a whole new look, including the removal of the infamous symbols and a new 3-D flyover package from New Zealand.
Below is a few caps of the new package, launched By Helen Young on Breakfast at 6:15.

Heyho, just wondering if anyone had conformation on the date of the new fancy weather gfxs. Ive been told several dates all of which have been and gone now and wondering when they would be finally revealed.
Let speculation run wild.

About flaming time too, those graphics look SO out of date. They've been using them for as I can remember.

The current graphics have been in use since 2000. Perhaps you are very young or have a short memory.

Personally I think they work perfectly well in their current form, but there will be a complete change to the current weather format next month.

Don't mean to be rude marksi but someone said that last month, and the month before. Do you know for certain that they will be launched in March?

The new weather graphics will appear in December, or is that early spring, no its definatly January.... Oh right it February for sure.
BBC Weather it never rains it poures.

You all complain... but isn't it better that they iron out any faults or problems with the new graphics before they go live. Some issues may have come up which have caused a delay, so surely it's better to iron these out than to go on air with unresolved software issues.

And while the current graphics still do the job perfectly adequately, there's really no rush for them to do it.

Will be interesting to see what they've done when they finally are revealed though - I just hope they haven't gone all ITV or, woe betide, the unreadable mess of an excuse for weather graphics that Sky wheel out every half hour.

I really can't see what's wrong with Sky's weather graphics.

It shows where it's going to rain, sleet, snow, rain heavily, sun, cloud and wind - what more do you want. It's readable too, and you can see the weather systems changing with it too.

Why does everyone grumble about them on here?

are the regions taking up the new graphics?

You'll just have to wait and see, won't you?

Yes, because the BBC have announced the launch date several times haven't they?
