France's i>Télé which is supposed to relaunch next week is once again on strike after staff concerns about the future of the channel and of the hiring of new presenter Jean-Marc Morandini who is subject of an indictment for "corruption of minors".

The I>TELE strike continues until Monday morning after 80% of employees voted to continue.

The channel is currently showing a loop of documentaries and a pre-recorded show from the controversial presenter they're unhappy with.

I was wondering if any German speakers could explain what "service" is in breakfast TV? From what I can work out its a sort of consumer watchdog section, but wanted to know what it actually is.

I can't think of a direct equivalent in UK television - if anything it's an amalgamation of features you'd see on This Morning or GMB and features heavily in German magazine shows.

In the last week of ARD Morgenmagazin there were features on superfoods, landlord/tenant disputes about the heating in winter, laws and rules that apply in forests, contents insurance, and getting your car ready for winter. Quite a broad mix you see and not really restricted to consumer issues.

i>TELE's strike has been extended until 1030 CET on Tuesday. Today was supposed to be the relaunch as CNEWS, however for obvious reasons, the old brand is still in use today with the same loop of docs.

I have a question, once the strike does indeed end, will the owners speed up the rebrand to CNews or will they drop it entirely for a period of time?

VGTRK's Vesti dropped the BIIII icon on all of its programmes beggining on 3 October this year.

Saturday's primetime bulletin followed the suit on 8 October, and Sunday's Vesti Nedeli got new intro the next day.

By the way, Vesti Nedeli's old promo is a copy of... ahem, see for yourself:
