This feels like a second home to me, I remember most of this despite being only 17 years old!
I can very barely remember Sky Channel Europe with it's "reaching out to you" slogan hehe.
I have fond memories of Lifestyle, shows like Classic Concentration shown during the day and David Hamilton doing the continuity.
DJ Kat is one show I could never forget since I took part in one of it's games in December 1995 (Kipper Tripper). Only needed one more fishbone key but ran out of time, and won 3 autographs and a sweatshirt (still in perfect condition I must add). Katrina Hilton Hull presented it in it's early days and Joe in the later ones. It was taken off air around February 1996 and replaced with "Sky 1 undun" which had a terrible song in it's adverts - "Sky One, we call it undun" -- ugh. It didn't even have any characters on it.
I can remember Super Channel in it's later years with programmes like "On the Air" which I recall was supposed to be like a radio, just a few pictures on the screen with a voiceover and music.
I got a Philips STU3301 receiver for £139 back in 1997 to get Astra 1D because we wanted Sky Movies Gold and I still have it now. Its channels were in transponder order and I know them all, I'd just be years giving out all 64 of them.
But now in the Sky Digital age I hardly watch satellite, just too busy trying to get the Leaving Cert out of the way. Still the memories of analogue satellite will be with me forever.

I used to watch Analogue Sky every Sunday morning round my Nan's. She seemed to be the only person in our family to have it!

I remember the trailers for Sky Sports 2 and Dr Who (Tom Baker era) was always on UKGold. The best thing was waiting for midday and the startup for Bravo!
If anyone has the long version of that with the funny clock machine - that would be brilliant!

You need words with Mr C Wathen.

He's the Sky analogue expert.

All I really remember of the analogue era was Eins Plus on transponder 19. It was a damn good source of a test card for most of the day.

Sky Analogue was brilliant, i remember Cartoon Network on Channel 11, Nickelodeon on Channel 12, The Childrens Channel on 13. And I remember when they used to show Quantum Leap at 10pm on Sky One and i was always allowed to stay up and watch it.

I also remember the last advert i watched when we got rid of sky when we moved house. It was an advert saying how 3 new channels were coming to Sky. Sky Soap, Sky Sports 2, and i can't for the life for me remember the other one.

Ahh those were the days...

God i'm only 19 and i sound like an old woman Razz

Ah yes it was so exciting when a channel launched on Sky Analogue, yes I still remember the channel numbers like yesterday:

1. Sky One
2. Sky News
3. Sky Movies
4. The Movie Channel
5. The Disney Channel/Sky Movies Gold
Movies Gold started from 10pm, the ident went out FTA then it would encrypt.
6. Sky Sports
7. Nickelodeon
They were a lot better in those days.
8. Bravo
Fantastic thearical ident.
9. Discovery
10. TCC/The Family Channel
The Family Channel, one of my favourite channels of the time!
11. UK Gold
12. QVC
13. UK Living
14. MTV Europe
I'm pretty sure it was the European version we used to get back in the mid 90's
15. VH1
16. Sky Sports 2
After this I can't remember!

Indeed it was. MTV was at least 10x better back then, in comparison with the tripe that MTV UK currently puts out!

I fondly remember NBC Superchannel, they used to show those crappy American teen shows like Saved by the Bell. I watched it religiously, how pathetic is that!?

Are you sure they showed Saved By The Bell on NBC Superchannel? I can possibly see the link on Superchannel but after 1993 when NBC took off, they took a different direction with the channel and one can't see Saved By The Bell under NBC's helm.

Positive. They showed the originals and the new class too. Why wouldn't they show them, they are afterall NBC programs.
