It was taken off air around February 1996 and replaced with "Sky 1 undun" which had a terrible song in it's adverts - "Sky One, we call it undun" -- ugh. It didn't even have any characters on it.

My only memories of Sky One Undone was that between 4PM and 6PM on weekdays they'd start using a different edit of the ident (ISTR it had a white background) with 'undone' animating onto the top of it and with a different 'holding phase' jingle (sounding a bit odd after the standard Sky One gravestones jingle). The anno would always then describe it as 'Sky One, Undone'. If there was a fancier weekend show, I don't reember it - I tended to watch whatever they were putting out on ITV at the time then.

Is it just me, or was Sky One Unden not originally Paul2001.

Thank you for noticing so quickly.

You don't need to credit my original observation, just send me the fiver!

While you did seem to notice that Paul2001 was posting under the SKY One Undun name, you don't appear to have suggested anywhere that the first post was made by a different person to the 2nd and 3rd.

Anyone remember CMT and that Japanese channel that used to follow after it at 7pm?

I started off with them in transponder order, because that was the only way you could do it, so then left them like that because I could rememeber the numbers.
8. Sky One
12. Sky News
16. Sky Movies
18. Movie Channel

Thats how I had them ordered on my old Amstrad too, which giving its pre-January 1994 capacity of 48 slots, with the advent of the "channel expander," the numbering system became very complicated. Always found though that those who re-numbered the channels according to convention missed out on all those little gems such as the german channels, etc.

Out of interest, does anyone remember FilmNet from around 1992-ish?

As for DJ Kat, only last month when trawling through my archives did I find some complete early 1990s continuity and opening sequence for DJ Kat! Was in the days when Katrina was still about too! I defected a bit when Nickelodeon came along but for that first year or more of Sky, I was an avid viewer!

Yep, transponder 11.

I even had a (cough, cough) decoder for a while.

Yes, I seem to remember a tweak with the screwdriver every few weeks dealt with the scrambling issue of the time, until it eventually died. Never seem to find any information or presentation online though.

Oh, goodness, YES, I'd forgotton tweaking the decode balance every so often, and also when you went to the channel on transponder 3 that shared, to an extent, the decoding system.

What was that one on 3 called? The name escapes me for the moment.

Can only vaguely remember that channel on 3, fairly sure it was foreign, RTL I think was on transponder 2 though wasn't it? I remember transponder 3 eventually went to the Sky and Granada channels when they launched but in the early days, can't recall at all.
