PS
Sorry if this has been pointed out before, but they now seem to be using these to promote programmes on other channels too.
Just now watching Holidays in the Danger Zone, a plug popped up for The World on BBC Four.
It's not revolutionary I suppose, but it's very clever as I now want to watch The World.

These things are just so crappy it's unbelieveable. I was watching the 5:35 edition of Neighbours and one appeared telling me I could watch the repeat of Blue Peter on the CBBC Channel. The Continuity Announcer then told us that again during the end credits. How stupid are they?

I personally think that they are not too bad (they could be worse), but I agree that they need to be faster. I think they are on screen for too long.

I really think they are annoying. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't reannounced at the end of the programme, just in case we missed it cascading across our screens.

Apparently, their trial period has now come to an end and their future is being debated. According to my source, they won't reappear, if they do reappear - which I'm sure they will, until BBC 1&2 move to the new Broadcast Centre.
