Not the target audience though.

ITV might as well have replayed the Cilla series at 9pm this week - they've got nothing on anyone would miss if it was dropped.

The One and Only and the second Cilla episode both replace a documentary (Abducted) that I guess will just be shown next week. The other two Cilla timeslots were going to be airing repeats anyway. Had they used 9pm for Cilla, I guess The One and Only would have had to go on at 8pm tomorrow - a two hour repeat of Foyle's War is scheduled. They would've also still had to replace the repeat showing of Abducted due to the original airing being cancelled.

Crossposting this from the ITV programming thread, as I forgot this thread existed. Posted video of Paul O'Grady's new introduction to 'The One and Only Cilla' here:

DOCUMENTARY: Cilla at the BBC
On: BBC 4
Date: Sunday 16th August 2015 (starting in 10 days)
Time: 21:00 to 22:00 (1 hour long)

Much-mourned national treasure Cilla Black commenced her eminent career as a TV host in 1968 on the BBC. Her career as perhaps the nation's favourite female pop singer of the decade had already been established after landing her first Number 1 with Anyone Who Had a Heart, the biggest-selling hit by a female singer in the 1960s. This tribute compilation celebrates the BBC's coverage of Cilla's '60s pop star years on programmes like Peter Cook and Dudley Moore's Not Only...But Also, The Ken Dodd Show, Top of the Pops and The Royal Variety Performance, before selecting just some of the golden moments from the long-running self-titled series she hosted for the BBC between 1968 and 1976 including the Paul McCartney-penned theme song Step Inside Love and that 1973 famous duet with Marc Bolan on Life's A Gas.

Stumbled across this.

It's probably been posted elsewhere, but something I can't remember seeing before.

Couldn't Blind Date get a showing on Challenge?

I don't know where they stand on rights but they haven't shown it for a very long time. I don't recall Challenge ever being the sort to air programmes in light of a famous passing.

They did have an entire 3-2-1 themed night very soon after Ted Rogers died in 2001, that's the only time I remember.

It's a shame they no longer have a suitable platform to show an episode of Blind Date or Surprise Surprise.

ITV 3? It might not be drama but it would probably a good fit just for the a night.

They used to show the odd bit of light entertainment but they've pigeonholed themselves so far into the drama genre, anything else feels out of place.

DEMBER!?! Big fail there from Channel 5. What year was this?

How? You really think Channel 5 would have had that caption at the bottom of the screen the entire time? The uploader of the video clearly put that caption it.
