Is it just me who's noticed that BBC Parliament is showing the same shows over and over again? I've seen Holyrood and the Search for the Scottish soul 4 Times now! I know it's recess, but they could be showing some parliaments from around the world, or better some election nights, like '92, '05, or '87. BBC Parliament has shown the scottish debate on the calman commision every day for a week! They need to show something different :@
In BBC Parliament's early days on Cable TV they used to close down for all of the Summer reccess, I'm surprised they haven't took it off DTT like last Summer for the Olympics.
I just think that they could be showing alternative things to do with politics, like some history of political parties, and other countries. Even when they show election nights, that was some of the best things someone like me could watch. I've been watching more and more BBC Parliament since last year. I'm a lot more into politics, and I could see why people get annoyed watching it in summer/christmas recess. There were some great programs on in christmas recess. Why can't they just change them a bit .
With a simple loop running, they don't need as much (any?) staffing for the channel, meaning more of the budget can be spent while Parliament is actually in session.
Fair Enough. But I think that the current cycle should be changed, as the calman commision debate isn't even the best debate I've seen. So they should include an election night or a documentary.
Actually I'm pleased at this cycle, caught the superb 'Lords' Darwin Debate', worthwhile as it has some excellent comments about the BBC and OU, a few days ago and am now looking at 'Select Committee - Press Standards, Privacy and Libel' with Rusbridger and Hislop giving evidence. Only joined around 0020 so will have to catchup with the beginning when it cycles around to a better time of day.
