It was a new system, don't forget, a secret ballot. The previous system was effectively pick somebody, if they're no good, pick somebody else.
The tradition of being dragged forcibly to the chair was still present in the new system, although Speaker Bercow effectively took himself, though not the last nod to tradition he was to abandon.

Nah. Enjoy not working while you can. Got the rest of your life to work.
