A new break filler has begun appearing on BBC World as of today, and it's quite different to the old one! I've uploaded it - it's about 2 MB (3 mins worth of video).

Has anything else changed on any BBC News services? (anything else on World, or pres on News 24, BBC1 News?)

Surely BBC4 News will be affected if any other BBC World pres has changed? What did the old breakfiller look like?

And what's all that white space doing in your image - couldn't you have cropped it Robert? (not that I'm telling you how to do your job, but the larger the image, the longer it takes to load!)

Thanks for pointing that out. Fixed it now.

As for your questions - nothing else on World has changed. They just planned to update the break filler as it was a bit outdated (3 years old now).

You can see the old break fillers on TV Home. Initially, it had news, business and sport headlines, weather and coming up information displayed on a red background. When 2002 came, they just showed coming up info (now available on TV Home), and now it's gone ten times better!! I'm very impressed with it. It seems to have replaced the Just A Moment and trailers that used to fill up the breaks on the HotBird feed of BBC World - we've had this new break filler in every break for the last few hours. Hope this is not just because it is new!

LIke the change in music - kind of sounds a lot like Jean-Michel Jarre now.

YAY!!! I've known about this for quite some time now! The music and look is extremely different from the old one! And i'm glad it has changed as it became extremely boring watching the old version again and again!

That's really sweet ... I'm glad to see they're doing something productive again with the breakfillers instead of those horrible Just a Moment ... shorts. I don't quite like the music as much, but it's still very good. Excellent work, World.

itsrobert, do you know if this is just for Asia, or are all the feeds getting the new breakfiller?

Now THAT'S what I call a break filler. Wow!!!

The "time to next programme" and day/night map are nice touches.

From the information I know, it's being used all over! However there have been several problems in getting it up and running so for the moment, the hotbird feed definately will be using it!
