How much of a team do they have - surprised they haven't had their wings clipped really as part of DQF.

Significant 'wing clipping' has gone on everywhere as part of DQF, and in the process that preceded that.
It never stops a dedicated TV anorak though Wink

You'll find that the Nations have much smaller more multi-skilled teams than you'll find 'elsewhere', so things tend to just get done... often with a little help from friends.

You don't need a massive team to achieve things like this. Massive teams mean meetings, consultations, referrals and approvals happen before any creativity is eventually driven out of what may have once been a decent idea in the first place.

No, what you need is a small, dedicated, creative and passionate team who get on with the job in hand and get stuff on the telly. Excellent work and long may it continue!

What this 'classic' week needs now is the return of a old continuity announcer e.g. David Allan. That would make my day! Very Happy

And what an utterly lovely chap David Allan is. One of those unforgettable, instantly recognisable voices IMO.

They could do with finding some of the old announcers. The CA with the reallyannoyingdelivery... whereby... hepausesandthen... sayseverythingreallyquickly just claimed we were watching BBC One.

Couldn't agree more. Did a sterling job for the 70s Night continuity more recently - probably the highlight of that whole evening.

Apologies if I've overlooked this from some time ago, but how long have NI had the 'localised' reconstruction of the Open Space cylinder up their sleeve? Can't really recall seeing that on-air before now... Nice one.

Just saw this on Digital Spy.

What’s more, at the junction between Mastermind and The Weakest Link today, they used BBC2's 'Blade', from the 1991-2001 ident era, on the programme board.

Did anyone capture this?

I didn't but judging by that, I will be recording tomorrow! Smile

It's really rather fab, isn't it! It's not been up the sleeve... it's hot off the press.

Yes, it's all brilliant, very well done...

...is it worth continuing to record on the off-chance anything more 90s shows up? Cryptic answers fine/preferred thanks!

I'd keep an eye on the schedules for 90s programming. Always worth watching NI if you can.
