The screen / window in the Midalnds Today studio is black at the moment. Although when other regions would turn to the side, Midlands Today seems to be carrying on regardless.
Also, Nick Owen is on the right side of the desk, when he's usually on the left.

Update - they now seem to be turned to the side.

Oh well Pete Davis at lunch time it was vey bad.

First: the black line at the top of the screen became larger quite a few times.

2: At the end as nick owen was just saying a few things the screen to the right went black for about 30 secs - 1 min.

Then it came back.

not much of an effort to hide the black screen - they turned to the side a couple of times, but they really just carried on as normal :

Why can't Nick and Sue just stay in the same chairs for every broadcast? Do they have to switch?

It's not as bad as GMTV. The presenters move positions every few minutes. No idea why.

I think most Midlands people are silly enough to think that the black screen just meant it was dark, so nobody would've really noticed. Bless 'em.

And they didn't refer to it or mention it?

Now that wouldn't happen on Look North would it?, they'd make a joke about it.Very Happy

It would be difficult to disguise if it was the actual screen not working and not just the live feed gone down (when you would expect a static or something to be put up)

So that isn't actually a window then ?

I'm devastated, do you know somebody told me today that Santa Claus and the tooth fairy don't exist either, and now this.

What is the world coming to, just lies and deceit that's what.

What? It was actually broken? I thought it was just dark in Brum. Only joking.

I noticed it and I thought it was strange. I thought it was my eyes at first and then I realised it had actually gone all nasty. Someone probably tripped over the wire - thats what you get for producing a news programme in a foyer.

I was going to get some captures but it was too late and someone else has already provided them.

Also, I feel pretty privelidged to have Rob Curling as our sports chappy. Although he doesn't seem to know where he is working at the moment. Sky Sports News, ITN News Channel, Midlands Today? Poor bloke, probably wonders into a new studio each morning looking for a job.

Is it just me or does she look like shes about to spit at the camera.  Probably a right phlegmy one.

I'm just waiting for the screens on Sky News to break down. They're only ever out of that studio for a maximum of 30 minutes.

Anyone remember when the light on the ITN News Channel's desk broke? It's normally a purple glow, but bust halfway through a bulletin and remained grey for about a week until they got the local 'leccy bloke to come and fix it.
