There's actually been a number of tracks used on Top Gear which I've been interested in (nearly always Electronic instrumentals), but have not had a clue what they are.
There are programs which can identify tracks when played through your computer, provided the piece is 'clean' for long enough.

If you go to FinalGear.com there is a section there which identifies almost all of the tracks used in Top Gear, and what times they are during the various episodes. There are some FANTASTIC tracks used in Top Gear as you say, the likes of Craig Armstrong and Rob Dougan are used a lot. Take a look, i've got quite a lot of the tracks Top Gear use thanks to that website.
