Anyone see Squawk Box Europe this morning - presented by Ross Westgate.... and, a complete surprise, CNBC US' Maria Bartiromo! Apparently in town to present an award (the name of which escapes me at the moment). Its also the first time I've ever seen Squawk Box dual-anchored.
Poor Louisa Boujsen had a hard act to follow with Morning Exchange afterwards...

We got the evening CNBC Asia schedule on CNBC Europe today (thanks to the bank holiday), for the first time in ages. Normally CNBC Europe seem to prefer reruns to broadcasting the Asian schedule on bank holidays. They also declined to broadcast US Wake-Up Call for some reason instead.
I didn't get to see much of Market Wrap, but it seems to be using different music to Closing Bell on CNBC US and Europe.
After it at 11am (6pm HK), we got a programme I've never seen before - CNBC Tonight. (I guess this is the reinacarnation of Business Centre Asia?) Its titles look like nothing else on any CNBC channel, all black with video footage of Asian businesspeople in them. Certainly fits badly with the CNBC US-esque titles used by the other CNBC Asia programmes. Its dual-presented, Teymoor Nabili and someone else, but no other CNBC Asia programme is.

CNBC Tonight has only been around for a month or so - and I too can't figure out why they didn't just adapt titles used by CNBC US like they have for their other programmes. It's a mess.

We'll get to see the second hour of US Wake Up Call over the next four days at 1300 CET due to the time changes. Last year, CNBC Europe opted to extend Power Lunch Europe instead. Apparently, Wake Up Call has the weakest ratings for CNBC US daytime programming.
I don't think I've seen the new graphics package for Wake Up Call yet, although cuts of the theme tune have been used on CNBC US for "Earnings Season" and "Election 2004" segments and on CNBC Europe's Today's Business.

I never realised how flexible the CNBC asia studio was in Singapore! Its great, if alittle on the smallish side. I do feel that in comparison the CNBC europe studio is rather shameful.
loving bartiromo and westgate on Squawk..... . I do wish though Squawk Box europe was a bit like either asia or the states rather than Geoff Cutmore sitting there like an idiot himself with a rather unexciting guest host as his back up.

I think its missed Simon Hobbes since he moved to Closing Bell. Though Louisa and Guy do a good job. At least they don't have Joe Kernan...
As for CNBC Asia Squawk Box, well they don't have a guest host at all, which is kind of the main point of it being Squawk Box. And they definitely miss Bernard Lo...

Got a chance to see Wake-Up Call today - they use different astons to the rest of CNBC US - they are simpler, and have only the name and job title on them, not the story title. The job title is in all caps, just like CNBC Europe's astons. Michelle Cabruso-Carrera, who was on Squawk Box for no apparent reason (other than the lack of David Faber), did a quick promo for Wake-Up Call at the end of Squawk (also for no apparent reason...)
Ross Westgate is presenting Closing Bell (and presumably also Europe This Week) tonight - has he presented every CNBC Europe show at this stage???
