Er, no, sorry but it isn't. BBC World has never editorially been a uk focussed channel, isn't there primarily to bring uk stories to the world and isn't (as is often supposed) a service for ex pats.
Although it did have extensive coverage, including on site OBs of the UK Olympic Torch procession in 2012, which was incredibly 'UK centric'. Even this week, I caught Open Source monopolising itself (when I tuned in at 21:30) with the Chelsea-Spurs match, as part of the Leicester City coverage, (presumably all that was on BBC World too ?).
And the Olympic Games was a major international event ... The torch relay itself was part of the build up to the games. You could take that argument and say that BBC World shouldn't have anchored all its programmes from the Olympic Park...
The local elections haven't featured on World at all this morning. I'm guessing here that the only bit that might warrant coverage is London Mayor...
