I've just been comparing the old BBC TWO idents with the new ones, and looking back at the old ones has shown me that they were getting quite dated now.
I agree I was qatching an old Simpsons tape which had neon, dog, duck, etc. on it & they DO look dated, shame they didn't keep car & just edited the colours though
No matter how 'dated' the old 2s are, they are nowhere near the current idents ont he crapness scale. The old ones are around 1.5 out of 10 when the new ones are around 9

There wer crap ones
Shadow, Glass, Papaercut out, Duck, Excalibur, I Love 1980's, etc.
Obviously at the moment they aint as good but they look more modern & fit in better than the others do as some of them had deteriated in colour, dog & optics especially

Not that simple I'm afraid - as there's no real 'tune'. The national theme is simply Bflat minor to Eflat maj chords (with Bflat tone signal beating every crochet at crochet = 60)
Same as N24 - a series of chords, no real tune. Worked out the chords for the BBC World special bed a while ago - did you ever get anywhere with adding more to the midi file, Martin?
