Look East Weather

Apologies if this has been mentioned before but I was watching Look East this lunchtime and found out old stalwart on Anglia Weather, Jim Bacon doing the forecast on Look East. He's changed his image a little by opting for the George Michael beard look.

Felt a bit strange seeing him on there as the first thing that went through my mind was Anglia. I think he left Anglia because of all the new young girls trying to take over his place and he didn't like it although that could be something I just made up but I'm sure there is a reason connected to it.

Yep - Anglia ditched their proper forecasters quite a while ago - Jim Bacon, Andy Cutcher and Claire Nasir (now at GMTV?) were all replaced by "weather reporters" - who presented with maps prepared elsewhere...

Jim has been working for the BBC off and on for a while now - I think Ivor has finally retired! (After how many leaving dos?)

I forgot about Andy Cutcher. I wonder where he has gone to? I think you right about Claire and GMTV. Then there was Becky Jago that started the same time that Bacon and Cutcher was going. She went onto better things like The Wright Stuff, an Anglia production, not sure if it is now. Then she headed onto Newsround before putting her face away on radio.

There's a nice weather lady on Channel 5 yesterday. Plenty of warm fronts going for her!

That means Jim's gone full circle then.

Does Anglia Weather still come from Meridian? Or have they ballsed it up by moving to LNN? But I understand they use the same methods as GMG North Weather, i.e same graphics and maps.
