From what I have got on video there were four versions of the disco people.....

Purple - Used for general entertainment
Green - Used for sport
White - Well I am not too sure, but I have a next link of this one on tape which advertises God's Gift, so I assume young people or music
Brown - Well again I don't know, but I have this one on tape which leads to GMTV, but the music from this one sounds like a car chase mixed with an Action film, so I'd probably say this one was used for films.

Were there anymore made?

Yes, that is the exact ident I was talking about. I don't think anymore were made. And I don't think The TV Room has a video clip of that above ident in the picture there. Somebody has got to have it, I am really sure.

Strikes me as odd that YTV only saw those glowing dancers for mere months before this took over:

Why couldn't they have kept that rather than using the hearts and then the celebs?

I just downloaded the WMV at the end of page 2 - looks like World of Sport's wrestling was part of the line up back then! I take it this was one of the first ever overnight broadcasts?

I have never seen that ident before :S

The glowing dancers were great. That made me think of why ITV1 did not think of creating Nighttime idents featuring cartoonised celebrities (e.g. Chris Tarrant) and the show they present etc.

As far as I know, it wasn't. It was in the Anglia and Meridian regions for certain, however.

Grampian TV seemed to have these disco people I think....they were not part of SMG at the time. Scottish TV, I don't think they ever showed those idents. They have always stayed independent.
