Well, being a small-time Family guy fan, American Dad has caught my attention although one thing I won't be watching is any family sitcoms, thank you Carsey Werner Mandebach for putting me off these sort of shows.

Shame we'll have to wait longer for 24. It's going to be compressed into the January-May months, with three two-hour episodes having to be squeezed in so that it finishes in May sweeps season.

Actually as I understand it there will be two "blockbuster" 24 episodes (of 2 hours)- one at the start of the season, and another either to finish it (unlikely I think given the extra tension and ratings achieved by single episodes towards the end of the plot) or somewhere in the middle. This will allow the final episode of day 4 to make May sweeps and give effectively a 22 episode season.

However, since Fox will run an episode a week with no long gaps, there is no reason why Sky One can't show the episodes almost straight after the US, so we could in theory have less time to wait (this year's season started in february) and less avoidance of spoilers from the US- hour 23 of this season has just gone out in the US, we have 9 hours left to go.

Should also hopefully take some pressure off the production team and give a better result on the screen. They've tried to have about 8 hours filmed before the season starts airing in the US and then used the weeks off to keep ahead....this way they should have about 3/4 of the season shot before episode 1 airs.

It be good if the UK channels did something similar to the US channels and released an early look at their schedules. I think this would especially benefit BBC1 which at the moment has a quite a patchy schedule.

Yes, but as a 24 downloader, I'm going to have to wait till January rather than October as this year. I think it's a good idea, although I'm worried it's a relegation in the Fox schedules for the show...

Ah, final episode of series 3 THIS WEEK!!! Can't wait.
