Isn't it a little odd how some of the news channel's senior presenters are actually working today and on days they wouldn't normally work.

So far we've had Jon Sopel on News 24 and Kay Burley doing Sunrise. Normally neither Kay or Jon would work on Saturdays.

I know what he means. For example, we will have Sophie Raworth presenting the BBC One News bulletins tomorrow. Normally she'd never work on a Sunday.

Think he means News veterans. But this has always been the case, especially on the BBC.

Anna Ford and Peter Sissons were often on our screens and if I can remember rightly poor Jan Leeming was wheeled out a hell of a lot in the eighties.

On the subject of Xmas news, the same couple have been doing Sky Sports News from noon until as I speak.

Looks like an 11 hour shift. Shocked

Have you thought that it could be recorded, as I would assume that there's a lack of Sports News on Christmas Day, and I don't think that many would be watching Sky Sports News on Christmas Day, so I guess pre-recording it would be the best option, it's also recorded each night from 11pm-7am.

I meant SENIOR as in senior to the junior.

Nina Hossain would also be considered senior as she co-anchors ITV's flagship Evening News programme.

Oh sorry. Thanks for clearing that up. The caps helped.

Guys, I was in the UK yesterday and actually thought "I must post something on TVF about the senior news presenters I have seen on various channelds today". You beat me to it.

i.e.

As mentioned above, Kay Burley on Sky, followed immediately by Vivien Creegor. Alastair Yates on BBCW. Jim Clancy, Hala Gorani and Zain Verjee ALL on CNNi.
