Meridian, if not all regions, are having 2 newsreaders in the studio from next week. Modifications to seating arrangements.

Odd use of the ITN atrium today. Nice set though

If there was another look I’d love to see the atrium again and end the green screen.

Yeah. But I think the ITV bosses would be against that because C4 uses it

I think it's clear ITV News have decided that CSO is their favoured studio set-up.

However, I think they made a mistake with the 'Car Park of News', because it was all so surreal. It was a step too far away from reality.

The set-up since 2013 'looks realistic', and it could be real; even for pedants like me, once I get over the major virtual H&S hazard of occasionally stepping way from the desk and falling down a massive hole into the floor below. Very Happy

But this way, they have something that doesn't get dirty or tattered looking, can be changed for different programmes at the touch of a button, doesn't have any real H&S hazards, and they seem content with for the time being.

And of course the current look does utilize the atrium look anyway, and actually looks good being a square peg in a square hole. I hated the 2006 atrium backdrop because it just looked awkward on a curved backdrop when the atrium design is all about straight lines.

Yeah. It's really clever how they do it. But it doesn't feel airy and light like C4 does

Prob, we’ll have to wait and see, but wouldn’t all the regions go back to north east tonight, anglia tonight with the reem font then?

Soccer Aid went to penalties so they are running late
