Slade - Merry Xmas Everybody video

I was just watching TMF's Christmas hits for the millionth time and at the end of the Slade video they always cut it before the very end but this time for a split second an ITN old style VT clock appeared. I've been trying to work out where this performance took place (not being an actual video) for years now, would it possible for someone to try and capture that for me?

Is this the version shot for the 80's reissue, where some loon goes mad on the drum kit(not Slade's drummer btw!), near the end?

Much prefer the BBCTV performances in this case.

By the way, does anyone think 'Noddy Holder's Christmas Countdown' is a fix when Slade is convientially No 1?

Yeah thats the one. Looks like some tacky performance from a Danish variety show or something. You would have thought with all the technology now that they would have created a video for it - probably not easy now since Noddy left in 1991 but still.

That particular clip must have come from the ITN News archive at a guess (hence the VT clock).

Chrissie Hynde (The Pretenders) also appears in the background which brings me onto another point of why the music channels decide to show a live performance of 2000 Miles instead of the video of her skiing that was created. Anyway, thats another story.

Thanks Westy2, I'm glad I wasn't the only one who noticed the pillock on the drums. He completely ruins the song.

Yeah, it ain't Don on drums... obviously somebody won a competition to play the drums.

Also on MTV channels a split-second before the Mud song "Lonely This Christmas" there is an ITN VT clock.
