YTV At 40

I wish Central did something like this for 25 Years of Central Independent Television. Even though they joined forces with the greedy Granada and destroyed ITV, CARL T ON showed a hour* long programme of 20 years of Central!
*Might not have been that long.

Central actually showed a 30 minute programme to mark 20 Years of Central News in 2002, with Central News East and Central News West also marking their 20th birthdays with special shows in 2002 and 2004 respectively.

Central did show a 5 part series called "TV Gold", to mark nearly 50 Years of ITV in the Midlands in 2004 (this is actually being repeated at the moment).

So, what did everyone think of the first "YTV at 40" programme tonight? Lots of nice references to "YTV" or "Yorkshire Television", not an "ITV" in sight! Liked the opening titles with the spinning chevron too.

No introduction or nowt tho just an standard ident with a promotion of what's coming up later on ITV. But everything else was brill.

Would have been nice if it had started with a chevron frontcap I guess But looking forward to the next part.

They covered sport on Calendar tonight with some clips of the famous 'Indoor League'
