A friend of my mum's told her and told me that she went to see a recording of this new YBF and she said it was poor and rather crap than the old YBF. But what I was told that they film the end first and they get told when to laugh and when to applause. The show will never be as good as the time when Beadle presented it, though I would rather watch this guy rather than Lisa Riley. (Though I much prefer Kirsty Gallacher anyday, no matter how crap she is at presenting it)
oh dear. Why don't they just get rid of the show - it's tired enough already.
The idea of having a sock puppet and the winning clip is just disturbing although 90% new clips is good. Of course they'll probably just show ten clips in the whole show as they can't do their normal tricks...
"The very first thing filmed at Stars in their Eyes is Matthew Kelly saying "OK... all vote now" and the audience only votes much later on. The 'voting' you see on screen is actually false, and the audience are told to look down at their keypad and press randomly."
I always wondered about the filming order for
Stars in their Eyes
took shape - I imagined the interviews/"Tonight Matthew..." part was recorded first, then a studio break, then the performances, then the voting.
Just as long as the actual voting isn't false or set up...
I have never really been interested in You've Been Framed. It is a bit of a tired format and I don't think any amont of new formatting will help it. I am actually a bit "disappointed" in ITV for trying to flog this old and tired show with some new clothes. Especially considering ITV have been rather axe happy recently. I am still angry over the treatment of Shafted.
If it ain't broke why fix it? 13 years in production obviously means they are doing something right.
When it first started back in 1990-ish with Jeremy Beadle, it had all this nonsense about voting for the favourite clip and talking to the 'victim' in the studio after every clip. It was crap. I want to see people fall over, without discussing it in length afterwards like some Uni. common room.
It was vastly improved the series later, when it was just clips. What they are doing now sounds like padding out 10 minutes of clips into a 30 minute show.

No Granada, don't do it.
Well, to an extent the links are generally a little bit longer, but there's still plenty of clips.
What they have done this time is played some really funny clips for a little longer, instead of playing a mixture of short funny and not funny clips. A much better idea IMO.
Lisa Riley also did the "Video Star awards" so the new "Clip for a Trip" is jut a variation on that idea.
