Oh, and the theme is fab.

Still not at all sure about this new look. I know people say you have to give it time, but the red scheme just doesn't work at all.

It looks just like the BBC1 National Studio!!!!!

What a funny way to sit around a rectangular desk, Christine seems to be sat at the short end of it!

Has Calendar always gone to "your part of the region" twice in each programme?

It's a similar colour scheme to Westcountry Live, although apart from the fact they insist on the sofa, it's a nice look.

But the Calendar studio is now very empty in my opinion -- the colours aren't bad, but it's very plain to look at, very angular and square. Perhaps the shot of the studio will be more complimentary when both presenters are sitting behind the desk.

All these OBs are a bit ambitious!

And *three* mentions of 'Yorkshire tv' in the endcap -- compared to the news in HTV-land, that is quite a novelty I can tell you..

Well I really enjoyed tonights show. More OB's, there was an extra opt out for more regional news, a bright vibrant studio, the 3 way split graphic remains, an improved theme, and excellent new presenter.

The astons might be plain but they are clear and do their job. Not really keen on the broom cupboard studios, still think they should have a backdrop of an image from the region.

Overall, ok it's kind of BBC News inspired but a better all round package than Look North Belmont in my opinion.

Oh and looks like they are going out on the road a lot more, leaving one presenter behind. Christine at the circus tomorrow, whilst Duncan is at the end of the desk.

Indeed, what with Duncan Wood in Sheffield, Jason McCartney at Bramall Lane and going over to Nicola, Karen or Faye twice, how much of the programme was actually with Christine in the studio!

I wonder when we will see that...

I expect future programmes will be a bit less wild, tonight's was practically a Sheffield United special

Oh look, both sets of Calendar's in-studio guests (the Bradford Lorry Driver and his wife and the Ambulance man) have now made their way over to join Cathy and Harry on Look North!

I can't be sure, but I suspect one was a pre-rec

Well, it has gone up in my estimation now I've seen the new studio - but no doubt it's inspiration has been taken from BBC News but still looks very nice nonetheless - and the theme is rather good.

The only criticism I'd make is that there needs to be a sting after the headlines - but there weren't really any headlines on tonights programme so I guess they can be forgiven for that.

Some of the graphics are still a bit too simple, but overall it could have been worse and it's good they've kept the theme and have actually got a new studio for their relaunch (unlike Central!)

Can't do pictures of video I'm afraid so I got the next best thing, audio only.

I have to say I do love the studio and the theme music. What lets it all down for me is the graphics, and there not that bad, I think it's the blue in them that makes it look a bit messy. The opening titles were a bit wierd with the clock flying around, a bit like countdown. The only thing that worries me is when the do have two presenters on the studio where do they both sit? If Christine's on the end of it, does Duncan sit round the back, and if so does he not get to use the big screen? Or are they gonna do one at the desk and one by the screen, perhaps only using the desk for interviews. Do you think there's another end to the desk or another part of the studio like a soft set?

EDIT: On another note, Look North (hull) used a slightly different version of the opening titles this evening featuring the Footballers running over a hill from North West Tonights titles, not sure which one they replaced.
