Across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the North Midlands, this is a round up of what went on on BBC North and Yorkshire Television Thursday Night and Friday.
Ian White presented the short Look North at about 10.20pm, No titles were used, It came from the self-opt.
ITV Opted very quickly to the regions at 10.50pm, Geoff Druet was at the Calendar Election Desk, he apparently reappeared at 3am
In the morning, During GMTV we had the usual length Calendar News bulletins, Raj Shukla presented as usual.
Over on BBC One Breakfast, the regional bits were slightly extended, Peter Levy presented, for the only time that week.
At 9am, after Breakfast, BBC One North went into a quick trailer, before Peter Levy announced 'Across Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and the North Midlands this is BBC One with a Look North Election Special presented by Peter Lugg'
The programming is came from the Look North studio without any special opening titles
Peter Lugg is the 'North of Westminster' presenter for those that don't know, there were special Vote 2001 Astons.
At 9.30am and 1pm, on ITV, Yorkshire showed a special Regional Programme, These used special opening titles, but were on the cheap, They were basically the 'Around The House' (YTV's political programme) titles, but they cut to a shot of the studio before they finished, and showed a ITV Election 2001 logo on the studio floor.
Geoff Druet presented with guests in a special studio with a special desk, For some reason a Widescreen screen was used for interviews, even though all YTV regional output is 4:3
At 1.30pm, there was a extended edition of Look North with Peter Levy, Nothing unusual, everything was normal, including the banter with small Paul. One thing that was out of place, and obviously left behind from the
9am show where they had many guests, Peter was sat on a grey 'tri-circular desk set' chair, apparently they only have a limited number of corporate chairs!
The only non-Northern Irish ITV station to do this, YTV showed a Hour-long special of Calendar from 5.30pm.
The programme used special Election titles, but throughout the programme they came and went!
The opening titles were special 'Calendar Election Special' ones, during the first break at 5.45, they used normal 'Calendar Back Soon' titles and then 'Calendar Election Special Welcome Back', at 5.55, 'Calendar Election Special Back Soon' was used, but then there was no 'Welcome Back' on the titles when they came back!, Both were correct in the third break at 6.10pm.
It was presented by Calendar's Christine Talbot and also Geoff Druet, Geoff in the Election set, and Christine in the Calendar set, at various points in the show, they showed a wide shot with Geoff's set close up and Christine some distance away in the Calendar set, obviously both in the same studio!
There were various special graphics, There was also a good mistake with Christine Talbot, with a very long pause before the break
Look North at 6.30pm was pretty normal, Clare Frisby and for the first time in 9 days Harry Gration presented, Peter Lugg was also present.
So that's it, all this, and only 3 seats changed in our region, Did anyone capture any of the North presentation or special titles, Is it appearing on
any websites?
