Nice to see the forums came back so quickly. Well done Asa. I'm not bothered about my post count. 'Twas only around 50.

I personally think that the post count should be left alone and we all should start from scratch.

On some forums, there is a way for the administrator to disable the post count on the forums.

I think Asa should do that.

Post counts should stay visible. Lets newcomers know who's who in the world of TV Forum.

Agreed, it's pointless.

Well its goof to see the forums back up so quickly.
The post counts etc. are pointless, but can be useful and occasionally interesting (From the start until the end of 2001, I made 1000 posts and since then i've only made 695 - in a longer period of time.), and so i'd like them put back but i'm sure they aren't top priorities.
My join date was 24th March 2001 and my post count 1695 + whatever.

I'd be in favour of either disabling post counts altogether, or just keeping them where they are now. For those with impressive post counts, you'll make it up in short order ... so what's the difference?

Of course, this may incite people to post one word or one-emoticon posts just to boost post counts.

Damned if you do, and damned if you don't ...

I too, don't see the need to restore post counts. Some people just like posting to get this number up. It's quality of posts not quantity. And we will all know who is respected and who are mindless children just by reading their posts.

I think the 'Joined date' is normally sufficient.

Well done for getting the site up and running again so fast!

Yes, it leads to many nonsense postings.

Post counts or no post counts, tis lovely to have the forum back -- my mornings have no structure without it! LOL.

Sat down yesterday, about to look upon pages of blue - but no!
Of course I then continued to malfunction and walk out of the room mumbling words in a language not known to me.

So thank you Asa for giving me back the structure to my early mornings! Smile

Shame about all the posts being deleted, but at least the board's back without too much trouble.

Just incase Post Counts do come back, my combined Post Count from my past two accounts (One got deleted by phpBB) is 244 .
