You could say this about anything though.

Wouldn't it be cheaper to screen old episodes of Coronation Street instead of making new ones? etc.

Charlie Brooker showed a few clips of Noel's Christmas Presents on Screen Wipe at the end of last year. He rather aptly described it as pure Partridge.

Personally I always found the programme to be nauseating, over-sentimental drivel. One of those shows where the producers were clearly not happy unless someone ended up crying.

Put The Telly On
It used to be on straight after The Queen if I remember right and it had that typically camp Christmassy theme music. Also, I think it was the show where Noel surprised this disabled guy by getting The Hollies to perform in his back garden.

Correct on both counts. Christmas Day, ten past three. The Hollies did appear in somebody's back garden.

Nice to know one is not alone in one's thoughts! At least it's being contained on Sky this time round...
