every things starting earlier, i saw a 'back to school' sign in a shop yesterday and the kids haven't even broken up for summer yet Rolling Eyes

now i don't wish to speculate but i think just for once we are actually going to have a HOT summer this year

maybe they only happen every 30 years

Oh no not Christmas already! Its over 6 months away!

Good - I love it hot, even hotter than what it is now.

I don't, it's ok if you are on holiday, but we don't have the infrastructure in place to properly deal with it in this country

A thread about a certain time of year should, and MUST have an obligatory contribution from myself! However..... I am only contributing to settle a prediction of a hot summer.

While temperatures are currently heading towards 30 degrees, the extreme heat should have fizzled out by the weekend where temperatures near to the June normality will re-appear. (Between 19 and 22 degrees).

There is no agreed or definitive long range forecast for this summer but the overall predictions are that the north of the UK will have temperatures above average for the time of the year while the south can enjoy near normal or slightly below average. Not a hot summer, but just a pleasant, usual UK summer. There is also likely to be little rainfall which will also be bad news for drought affected areas.

In the past, if June temperatures were unusually high (as they are at present), then July and August have been cooler. This certainly was the case in 2004. Of course, the only path of truth as to what the weather will do is to wait and see. I for one, hope it's not an unbearably hot summer like it was in 2003, but a pleasant and dry one.

I've just come in from the garden to get a cold drink cos I'm far too hot and I find that someone has started a thread on Christmas idents.

You've got to wonder how people's minds work...

With this week's scorching temperatures I certainly wouldn't mind some Christmassy weather...

Just enough for me to be able to get to sleep would be lovely

Put The Telly On
Its been very summery already what with the World Cup on the telly and everyone hanging out England flags. Cool Lets hope it lasts - to me, it hasn't been this cheery since Euro 96.

Anyway, where were we? Xmas idents.... Wink

That's old news now! I'm worried about the promotions that the BBC will use for Spring 2007!

What extra 'infrastructure' do we need... other than a fan and a cold drink?
