I am bored of The X Factor.

All it seems to be these days is some prat who crys explaining how their mum and dad died (cancer, mostly) and they need to sing. Rolling Eyes

It's wrong, IMO. I wish ITV would commission something decent to watch.

Its the Second biggest Show on ITV/STV/UTV so I doubt it!

You know what? **** it. Just because people watch it doesn't mean it is decent, does it? People watch FOX News but that doesn't make it alright.

I hate the new fomat. Its awful and I think it lacks atmosphere now rather than the audience creating a buss!!
Lookibg forward to the much needed new titles!!!!!!!!

You seem to be forgetting that ITV is a commercial broadcaster and a struggling one at that. If a giant turd got 12m viewers every week you can be damned sure that is what they would broadcast. The fact is The X Factor brings in a solid 10m+ audience every week for its entire run, a joy for advertisers and hence an even bigger joy for the broadcaster.

For what it's worth I agree with you about The X Factor being a load of tosh. The thing is though when this particular programme name pops up on my EPG I use something called a 'remote control' and miraculously ol' square head and co. disappear.

Don't think this has been brought up, but TV3 showed xfactor some 5 or more minutes ahead of UTV/ITV1 on Saturday. I always thought they had some link from ITV????

What's the situation with ads now in Ireland? ITV are now allowed an extra ad break in programmes over 1 hr 10 minutes, so Saturdays show was in six parts, rather than five as was previously the standard for 90 minute shows - so perhaps TV3 had to skip an ad break.

Funny. I don't recall that happening on Saturday's show.

Funny, I recall it happening on every show for the past 5 years.

I just think that they're copying Britain's Got Talent now, it's just BGT to me, but singer's only. Pointless, some can sing, but they could at least try not to make BGT's Format The X Factor's Format too.

There was no sob stories on Saturday, did anyone notice that? Peter Kay's mock programme last year and the criticism the show received for the whole Daniel dead wife, baby thing perhaps changed the direction of the programme this year.

I loved it, but yeh the audience is unncessary.

Indeed, not a single sob story. Which was nice.

Thought the final singer ("bisexual teacher wows Cowell" according to the Daily Mail - nice to know they focussed on that bit of him, and not his performance) was terrific - although seemed a bit high on the smug scale.

Clearly brought his own backing track, too, as it was WELL rehearsed.

Britain's Got Talent was relatively sob story free too - but they still come out in the press. Something today about that teacher losing his baby sister 25 years ago.
