FA
The backing tracks are live.
I thought the first 10 minutes were a bit of a mess. Then we went from London (judges arriving in speedboats) to Manchester, then back to London again (cars this time; same venue) and it all seemed a bit odd really. I'm sure I'll get used to it though.
I think the more odd thing was the fact that they started the VT about how the terrible singers kept coming through the day & all judges changed clothes with Cheryl & Danni changing hairstyles too.
The show was interesting with an audience. I think in a way that it did improve the show. The audiences were useful for getting rid of some of the awful auditionees (triple trouble) without booing everyone off in a BGT type of way, and it was nice not to have the deluded families come running in saying how wrong Simon's opinion was.
The set looked very good, and I liked the way in which the families stand in the wings watching the performances to see some feedback.
I liked the explanation that Simon gave about the live audience on the Xtra Factor. Saying how he sat in the room (presumably at the original Glasgow audition) and didn't enjoy it. He continued explaining how he enjoyed the feedback from the crowd, and in a way I suppose that could give you a good reaction, especially for the not so bad but not excellent singers.
Going back to the jumping of locations, why do they do this? Couldn't they have a couple of shows in London, then Manchester, etc. rather than jumping around the country for the next few weeks?
The only problem with the new auditions for me was that I kept expecting to hear the buzzers for the terrible singers.
Sooooo, that one at the end, do they get to have a backing track if they want to now or was it put on in post production? I found it rather odd. I only turned on at 8 though so I missed the start if they explained.
