There was an interesting hint at possible changes for next year on the Xtra Factor last night. A Caller suggested all the judges having one act from each of the categories and they all agreed it was a good idea and would like to see it happen. I think it's been suggested here too in the past and I do think it's time it should happen.

I'd say thats the natural progression for the show. The judges line up is good at the minute and might be a bit risky to change and it could end up like series 4 again, they can't really 'down size' the auditions or else it will look a bit stupid and as though they're back tracking so the next possible move to keep the show fresh is really just to change the format itself.

It's an idea I've suggested before, though the mechanics of it might be difficult (who gets first pic of each category, what happens with judges homes etc.?

As successful as it's been this year though, I do think there are still a few issues which need addressing, most notably the theme weeks which this year have been more restrictive than ever (usually being one singer rather than a theme), gone on too long (the themes shouldn't be around at the semi-final stage) and as a result prevented contestants from really making a mark and telling the audience exactly what they're about. So basically jack of all trades, master of none!

I'm also very disappointed to see that more tickets are available for the audience of next years X Factor auditions.

It works for Britian's Got Talent but I didn't enjoy the auditions as much this year because solely of the audience. More humour / talent could be sensed I believe when it was more personal just in a room like previous years.

They were hardly going to backtrack were they?

We now allegedly have out three duet artists announced: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/xfactor/news/a190388/buble-williams-return-to-x-factor.html

Having never been a huge fan of the audition stage (mainly due to how the edit favours the crap, not the potential) the audience did lure me back to some extent, but I agree it doesn't work as well as Britain's Got Talent.

I do think a compromise would be best of a smaller more intimate audience, perhaps around a circular stage effectively behind the performer, facing the judges, giving it an amphitheatre type feel. Backing tracks should be dropped too - just simple piano/guitar accompanying the vocal.

A bigger audience could then be bought in for Boot Camp, where I think it actually does work.

I really want to see a live band on the live shows as well. They've resisted so far (bar Big Band week) but it really does make a difference.

Sorry if this has been sprung up before but this years winners song will be Miley Chyrus - The Climb.
Joe, Stacey and Oily all rehearsed it on Tuesday ahead of this weekend's final. Simon's decision apparently was in the view that this years X factor was attracting younger viewers.

I actually quite like the song.

Also the video for it will be like the "chanel" advert ( according to the Sun) - which actaully meant it has a London skyline backdrop.

Which according to ITV's logic, will be highly offensive to anyone outside of London.
